Hi,
This is a two part question.
I have some DHCP Scopes that have scope options set (Option 6 DNS Servers). Im going to be changing the scope options to point to 2 new DNS Servers. I understand that the clients wont see these changes until they renew their leases and thats fine but I did see someone on a forum somewhere I cant find now stating that after making the changes to the scope options I'd have to restart the DHCP Service.
I'm not sure I believe that as I cant think of a logical reason why but does any one know for sure whether thats the case?
The next question is, if that is the case. These scopes are replicated in a DHCP failover cluster in Hot Standby Mode. After I've made the changes to the scope options I will replicate the scopes to the stand by server. Do I need to restart the DHCP Service on that server too?
