Win 10 Pro version 1903 and Spectre and Meltdown

Dear Colleagues

For those with older Intel processors (such as i7 release 2, 3, 4 & the like), GRC's Inspectre Webpage pointed the way to get microcode fixes etc etc which would offer some protection against Spectre & Meltdown problems - albeit at a performance penalty.

However, I believe that it was promised by Microsoft that updated software within Win 10 version 1903 and recently being rolled out, would claw back some of the performance lost because of having an older Intel processor and therefore might render obsolete using the GRC Inspectre software fixes.

Could I enquire whether an older Intel processor user should leave the GRC patches in place or should they be removed now that Win 10 version 1903 has been released ?

Many thanks
