Vista Home Prem 32bit. Media Sharing issue

My PC which once shared Films, Photos and Music with the other devices on my home network now only shares video. I have messed endlessly with media sharing settings, file sharing and network settings but it will only share films. Folders accessed through media sharing show up as empty as if the file formats are not recognised. these are just jpg and mp3 so surely thats not the problem?
