My Windows Vista computer won't see a blank DVD+R

The drive itself on my Windows Vista 32-bit computer works. I have Service Pack 2 installed, if that helps to know. I can install and utilize media discs. The error message I get is "Please insert a disc into drive D:" and then it gets ejected.


I read another, similar problem on this forum with bogus advice that says to hit the Windows key + C to get some kind of Charms bar, etc., but doing so doesn't actually do a single thing on my #$%^&#@%# computer.


I need an actual solution for this irritating problem because this is pure *%^$#@!, to say the least.
