fresh paint help please

I spent many hours on a very creative painting. I saved it and then went into my pictures and clicked on a photo. The photo I clicked on ended up transposing onto my painting. I lost the original by accidentally deleting it. Is there any tool that would remove the photo from my painting. The photo partially covers my painting.
