when we end a scheduled task in server 2008 R2, it killed the entire process tree.
however, for the same setup in windows 2012 R2, when we ended a scheduled task, it is not killing the process tree but just cmd.exe.
My scheduled task triggers a batch file. which in turn runs a Windows script file.
so, in task cmd.exe is the parent. conhost.exe and cscript.exe are child processes.
in 2008, when cmd.exe was killed, it killed the child. in 2012, only cmd.exe got killed.
