Updating windows 8 to windows 8.1

I attempted to update my Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 but it failed. Looking solutions, I noticed that Upadte KB2871389 is required before my Windows 8 can be updated to Windows 8.1. However, my system failed to install Update KB2871389 since 2013.

Under such situation, what should I do to successfully update to Windows 8.1?
