Hi, I am having basically the exact same issue as this thread, but 1) it's locked and 2) I don't see an answer in there: Latest Windows Update broke Start Menu, Notification Centre, and all UWP apps including the Microsoft Store
My work laptop stopped working last summer after a Windows Update (like the posters in that thread, I had multiple language packs installed) and I temporarily switched to a different one. Now I need to get some files off my old laptop but it's basically unusable. Plus, I can't run backup & sync.
I did an in-place Windows 10 reinstall which fixed some corrupt files issues I identified through the System File Checker, but it didn't fix my UWP problems. I also ran the Startup Repair Tool (no issues found), updated all my drivers, etcetc...
I tried reinstalling all of my Windows apps but I'm getting the following error:
Trying to reinstall Cortana through powershell freezes up my computer (Event Log).
I have no idea where to go from here. Please help - and thanks in advance!
