We have just completed a Windows file server migration from Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2016 using both RoboCopy and FastCopy. All the data has been migrated with the proper share folder and its NTFS permissions.
Now I have this one single folder behaving abnormal. The 'owner' information is not listed (even option doesn't show) in any of the files in this folder, where as I can properly see the 'owner' information of any sub folders inside this particular folder.
Even when a second user opens a file (.doc, xlsx etc..), it doesn't show the domain name of the first user who have opened the file previously for editing instead it just shows, the file is locked for editing by 'USER' and not the real username.
I have absolutely no issue with other folders or the files it contain. All of them display correct owner information for files and it exactly says, which user has opened a file for editing when another user opened the same file.
Can some one give me guidance on how I should approach this matter?
