Changing folder that opens up when Windows explorer is started

Gerry 900

When Windows explorer is opened up the "Documents" folder is always opened as
the default folder. The actual folder location is
C:\Users\UserName\Documents. Can this default be changed? I would like to
change the default folder to be the disk drive "C:", or possibly some other
location.

If you mean when you right click on start and chose Explorer, mine open with
Programs highlighted by default. Do not think you can change it and its only
one click to chose an alternative.

If you mean something else please explain.

I am referring to the default folder that is opened with the Winodws
Explorer. The Winodws explorer is located under "Start > All Programs >
Accessories > Windows Explorer".

Gerry,
Make your own shortcut on the desktop to explorer to open up at the C:
drive. Right click the desktop, left click new, left click Shortcut. Click on
browse, left click on the C: drive, click OK, click next, Type in any name
you want, then click on finish. You now have an icon that will open explorer
at the C: drive. Much better than the way Vista opens. You can put several
icons to open up anywhere you want.

Open Computer. Double-click on your C drive. Drag the icon in the Address
Bar to your Desktop. You can rename the shortcut anything you want.
