Windows server DC demotion

Hi,

I have one scenario to discuss. I have two DCs in my environment and some application servers and client machines. One DC is PDC which is server 2008 and other is secondary of server 2016.

I have demoted the PDC server and suppressed the srv too. The application servers and client machines have given IP of PDC server by hardcoded.

So, my doubt here is after demoting and suppressing srv to 2008 DC, where will the application server and client machines point to for authentication ? Will it be 2008 DC or 2016.
