B
Blueshift
Running several Hyper-V Server 2012 machines.
One updated last night and is working fine.
The other one is failing to start a lot of services.
Running services.msc does not work.
Navigating to the services.msc in the C:\Windows\System32 and trying to run gives error "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." (This happens with any msc file)
Disconnected from domain and tried to re-join domain.
Credentials window appears as expected but after entering, I get error "The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "Mydomainname":
The system cannot find the file specified."
Interestingly, these issues are now also happening with any backup image I try to restore from when this machine was working without issue. This might be happening because somehow windows updates are being installed when starting up the restored virtual machine backup. Any way to block this from happening to troubleshoot? Uninstalling these updates does not seem to resolve the issue.
Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks!
