We have this application and it uses ClickOnce as a deploy to install on our Windows Server 2016 Virtual Machine.
This has no problem running on Server 2008 R2, but once we move to the Server 2016 VM, it will not run all the time. Network isn't an issue because I can get to the folder manually fine.
I have to run the setup.exe program and then it will run. If I reboot or logoff and then try it again, the icon will not come up with any dialog box.
I have turned on the logging and it's not even able to report this to the logs. It just does not come up with the dialog box that it's checking for updates.
I am running it as a domain administrator and it works perfectly fine on machines of at least 2008 R2. I have not tried 2012 R2 yet. Any ideas why it just bails and doesn't run at all. It simply fails to launch. Yet, when I run the setup.exe or run the manifest manually it works great.
Is there some incompatibility with Server 2016 and ClickOnce applications that I don't know about. BTW guys I did Google it before asking here, but I couldn't find anything on Google either.
