New 2016 Domain and can't join win10 clients

My shop just purchased a new Dell with win svr 2016 pre-installed. Active directory, dns and dhcp were installed and configured. Client pc's are mixed with win7 and win10 ltsb & Ent. I've only tried to join the win10 ltsb client to the domain and it says can't find domain. I'm using the active directory name, not the host name of the server. If I do a NLtest I get

DC: \\SVR-Name

Address: \\SVR-Ip-Addy

Dom Guid: big string

Dom Name: domain-name

Forest Name: domain-name.com


I can ping the host name just fine. DNS has a static record for the server.

What am I missing here? I have user licenses for the server, what am I supposed to do with them?
