I
Ian
i posted the warning for windows post to let the user community know. The FBI
has already started their investigations and crackdown on the BotNet, but it
is still growing. My post is not a hoax! what is happening to my system via
the hack, especially the hang in send/recieve that occurs, durring the
sending of documents, a word doc, and pdf take less than a minute to send out
when both are attached to the same email. i can send out several pdf
brocures, and it still does not take very long, but after this problem takes
place, it takes up to 5 minutes or more to send two documents!
There is no hard drive activity going on during this entire hang, so who
knows what is getting sent out. this only happens during and after the .exe
change occurs this hang is very much like BotNet type behavior and the
possibilty of my system inadvertnantly sending out assistance to a DDOS
attack or emailing others the glorious bot or virus i have.
for brushing up on what is possible with hacks these days a good book to
start with is:
Symentec Press- published 2005
The Art of Computer Virus Research and Defense by Peter Szor
isbn:0-321-30454-3
and realize it is already out of date and still very eye opening about
things that geeksquad and fire dog will tell you are not possible.
