How do you determine the number of remaining MAK activations when Volume Activation Management Tool 2.0 doesn't work?

This is the key information for one of my licenses at the Volume Licensing Service Center. Is it telling me that I have 42 activations remaining? I tried to check using Volume Activation Management Tool 2.0 as per the information I was able to find using web searches, but it simply will not accept this key -- the "verify" button remains greyed out when you paste it and add a description.
