I have an application that is running on Server 2008 at the moment and the application is a be spoke application that was developed in house. The developers have left the org and there is no one now to support the application but the application is required by the Deskside Team for Windows 7 purpose.
As you know the last date for Windows Server 2008 Extended support from Microsoft is Jan, 2020 , so we now have to upgrade the Server OS from 2008 to 2016.
So what is the best way to carry forward this application to Server 2016 if we have to do a fresh install of Server 2016, can we make use of containers here and deploy that container image of Server 2008 on the new upgraded Server 2016, will that help?
What is the procedure to do this, if someone can help me with this.
Thanks
