I had an old computer running Vista. It came OEM (from HP). It died recently. I got a compatible motherboard and processor, and installed the hard disk, video card and all other components there. I am trying to define which OS to use and I think I heard that what mandates when a computer is "another computer" is the motherboard, and that therefore, by changing the motherboard I have technically changed the computer and hence the OEM version is not suitable for it and will have activation issues when running. Is this accurate?
