Performance Monitor remote stops working

I am collecting performance logs from a Windows 2012 R2 Server Core machine on a Windows 2012R2 GUI version server.

I have opened firewall ports and it worked correctly for a while (a couple of days) but then stopped working.


The error I am getting when trying to connect is:

"illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion"

Reboot helps to temporarily resolve the issue, but only for 1-2 days - then the problem re-appears.

I am having it on several servers.

What can be wrong and how do I troubleshoot it?
