I must have posted several times about this problem already, but to date nothing has been done.
Why does Microsoft not fix the windows update stack on server 2016 ? Why do you sell your customers this shoddy product ?
I am a server admin, time is money in my case as well. It is unacceptable that Server 2016 takes so long to just download and install a CU, on average it takes well over an hour on Server 2016, whilst on Server 2019 it takes just about 10 minutes.
That hour is when it actually succeeds, which is a pretty low chance. The CU's fail for no apparent reason, enough diskspace, enough resources, but fail fail fail. Manually installing the CU using the catalog does work.
Windows update on Server 2016 is utterly broken, and it is time to fix it, or support Exchange 2016 on Server 2019, so I can kiss that awfull Server 2016 goodbye. Because when all is said and done, that OS, and most specifically it's update stack is utter utter garbage and absolutely not ready for release, and this remark comes three years after release, shame on you Microsoft for release this utter garbage.
