I am trying to do an upgrade from Windows Server 2012 (not R2) to 2019 Essentials. I understand that in order to get to 2019 I have to do an upgrade to 2016 first. However, when I try to upgrade to Windows Server 2016 the option to keep personal files and apps is grayed out and cannot be used. Even though I downloaded an evaluation copy of WS 2016 Essentials, I am using a valid 2016 code (not evaluation). Per your documentation this upgrade should be possible. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks.
