Windows update problems

I received a notification that my laptop needed to restart for an update, on restarting, it seemed that a new version of windows 10 had been installed, which had deleted all my music, documents, and downloads, also certain shortcut icons had gone off the desktop, the only solution to this was to uninstall the update, this happened 13/09/2019, this is not the first problem i have encountered with windows updates , get it sorted microsoft !.
