I've read through a couple of things in regard to Microsoft copyright and I can't find anything explicitly forbidding the sampling of sound effects from older operating systems, but I don't want to take that as permission. There is a similar question that linked me to those resources about Microsoft copyright, but there seems to be no way to actually contact somebody to get these permissions. I can easily comply with the 'Requirements for Allowed Uses,' I can link to Microsoft.com and obviously have zero intention to defame Microsoft in any way, they're just fun sounds to use. Any advice on how to proceed would be ideal.
