Explorer.exe "Not Responding"

Content Menu (Rt Click) on any folder (excluding c:\) causes explorer to "crash" - not responding.

Desperately need to assign sharing to several folders for various users - is there a work around to share NOT using explorer?

How do I resolve the explorer.exe crash?
