in-place upgrade windows server 2012 r2

question if i'm making in-place upgrades all programs and databeses will be moved and working on server 2019. I mean is there a posibility that nothing will work as before? The databeses are from selling program and this is the most important for me. Also the computers in my domain will be moved to new server without my interference to configuration of them?
