Would replacing hard disk in my Samsung notebook computer w/windows 8 pre-installed cause it to need reactivation?

Back in March of 2013 I had purchased From Fry's Electronics in Phoenix Arizona a Samsung Notebook Series 3 computer model NP-350V5C-T01US. It came with Window 8 (NOT 8.1, which I had stopped it from updating to) pre-installed on it. In its small "User Guide" manual that came with it, it gives instructions about how to upgrade the hard disk to a larger one, stating that it is an easy thing to do by making the backup copies and then restoring them onto the new drive that's connected via USB and then simply swapping it in place of the original hard disk. It makes it sound simple, giving somewhat-detailed instructions on all of the various steps involved, and there is never any mention of doing so causing a need to worry about it then invalidating the "Genuine" status of the copy of Windows 8 that came on the machine. So this causes me to believe that doing so won't cause it to invalidate the Windows 8 that will then be on the new and better hard disk at that point. Is this correct? I'm confused because I've read some places online talking about a product key (which I neither got nor really needed with this computer because of it coming as an OEM pre-installed version) being based on all types of hardware inside such as the hard disk among many other things, thereby potentially leading to a loss of Windows "Genuine" status by replacing the hard disk. However, other places online mention about there also being situations where the Product key is kept in the BIOS of the machine, perhaps making replacements of things like the hard disk NOT lead to any problems with it losing its Genuine status, which is of course what I'm hoping for. So I would very much like to upgrade its hard disk in it right away and just need to know exactly what to expect in this regard beforehand. Will it be just as simple as it sounds in the manual in my case, hopefully without it creating any loss of its Genuine Windows status? Or if there would be a loss of Genuine status, would I be able to handle the whole reactivation process over the Internet without a phone, being that I currently have no working phone? I do NOT want to risk it until I know the answers to these questions FOR CERTAIN one way or the other regarding what exactly to expect in my case. I've already tried finding out via Microsoft's online "Virtual Agent", successfully finding and then entering in my "Installation ID" along with then successfully having it log into my Microsoft account, but it then suddenly states "Oops... We encountered an unexpected issue.", leading to no resolution whatsoever in getting any help through it.) So thank you in advance to those who hopefully know the answer to this.
