Another question about iOmega Zip 100 on Windows 10

A

AMOlson

Like many who have written on the topic, we have data on Zip disks that we'd like to retrieve. Our hardware includes the following

Zip 100 (Z100P2), manufacture date=11/2008, with parallel cable.

Dell Vostro Notebook 7590, Windows 10 (64 bit)

  • 9th Generation Intel Core i7-9750H (12MB Cache, up to 4.5 GHz, 6 cores)
  • Windows 10 Pro (64bit)
  • 16GB, 1x16GB, DDR4, 2666MHz 370-AEEC - 1 -
  • 128GB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive (Boot) + 1TB 5400 rpm 2.5" SATA Hard Drive (Storage)

We're considering whether to buy a parallel to USB adapter or cable, but what I've read in the MS Community posts give me pause.

Can anyone tell me, definitively, that our proposed configuration (i.e. Zip drive & cable to adapter to Dell notebook USB port) will work?

Thanks.
