windows 7 laptop

i have a windows 7 laptop and a windows 10 laptop the windows 10 worked grt till i dropped it cracking the screen is there anyway i can take the "drive" (thats as technical as i get ) from the 10 and add or replace it into the windows 7 machine as apart from its age and out of date apps etc it works perfectly for my usage ....pls reply as if you're talking to a 4yr old i have technophobia
