Distributed Transaction Coordinator won't start

I have a 2012 R2 sp1 that the DTC will not start. When checking permissions of the MSDTC folder, I see it is owned by “Trustedinstaller” . I have been googling but there is not much for this issue on 2012. Any thoughts?
