I was printing an excel spreadsheet. Because the spreadsheet was printing too many pages, in printer choices I selected Microsoft print to PDF. The spreadsheet printed a huge amount of pages - something like 17000 - and when I tried to open the pdf file my pdf viewer crashed. So I tried to delete the file but got a message saying it was still in use. I waited 5-10 minutes, came back and tried to delete again. Got same message saying file was in use. I rebooted pc and since then my print spooler service keeps stopping unexpectedly, giving event id error 7034. I can't print to either a printer or a pdf - getting asked to either set up printers or the printers I have already set up are shown but print button is grayed out. I tried stopping the print spooler, deleting all files in System32\spool\printers and starting the spooler. Same issues. I tried running the troubleshooter but it came back asking me for a printer name. Microsoft print to pdf was not one of the names but even selecting a regular printer I got "Troubleshooter couldn't identify the problem". Can some one help me either find the source of the problem or find a way to fix this issue? Up until this issue, I had no problems whatsover with printing to printer or to pdf.
