Hello all,
I made a really stupid mistake and accidentally installed a new OS on the wrong server. Literally put the KVM into the wrong server, can't believe I done it. The server I have broken is old, but has data we need to retain. It's running SQL. It has the OS partition and various other partitions used for data drives. Everything is running with RAID.
We did a physical to virtual just a few months ago and have loaded this VM on a spare server, it generally works but there have been a number of issues and to cut a long story short, it doesn't work properly. I might be able to come back to this as a get out of jail card but my question, is it possible to replace the OS which I have accidentally installed with the former 2003R2 OS which I have as a VHDX?
If so, how can I do this, can I simply attached it or do I need to convert it to a WIM?
How can I make this the primary OS and replace my current C drive with this?
Any help would be much appreciated.
