Error Code When Using Windows Backup

I know this question has been asked, but in my case it is somewhat different.
I start a full backup on DVD-R's. The first disc starts to save the files and
then about halfway through, this happens: File backup failed. The error is:
Incorrect function. (0x80070001). I then go to details, hit the "Try Again"
button and it starts where it left off. It will do this three or four times
but then everything starts to work fine. The Windows Backup program goes on
it's way and in the end, it completes the backup. Is this affecting the
backup in anyway, and if so, is this a problem that's small enough to leave
alone? Any response would be great! I know you wonderful experts in here help
a great deal and without you, I would be in the dark! :) Thank's!!!

It happens with CD burning software, not the best of a task. I now use
memory pens to back up because they act like hard drives, are cheap and very
large capacity.
