Hi all,
I've updated my Asus zenbook pro 14 ux480fd about a three weeks ago. Since then, my built-in camera is not working properly anymore. There error message I'm getting is "Can’t start your camera error 0xA00F4244 <NoCamerasAreAttached>". Also, I cannot find it in the device manager (it's still showing up under "show hidden devices"
A hardware problem can be excluded as my camera works again every now and then, but only once (mostly after rebooting) Thus, it needs to be a software-related problem.
I've researched this topic thoroughly and my even my IT guy was working for 4h on it already. And yet, still no success. So to avoid any suggestions for a simple solution (have you tried rebooting lol) here's a list of what I did:
What is od about the driver is that the provider is "Mircrosoft" and not Asus or another third party.
Here's a list of blog articles I've already tried out.

So seriously, I have no idea what else I could do. Desperate for help. Obviously I could send in the laptop but I need it for work (BYOD) and dont want to wait 3 weeks. For anyone helping me, I ensure you a monetary compensation in the 3 digits.
Thank you
Best,
Lanny

- Allow apps to access your camera is "on"
- reset camera settings
- Searched for new drivers via windows updates, device manager and from the manufacturer page (Asus)
- Searched for software changes in the device manager
- Uninstalled the camera in the device manager and repeated step 4.
- Driver rollback in the device manager (The option is not available, however)
- System reset (complete reset)
- Even added a new registry value as described here (my W10 is 64 Bit): How to Fix Windows 10 Can’t start your camera error 0xA00F4246 (0x887A0004) - Appuals.com
