I have just started a windows 2016 server and configured IIS and started a FTP site. The ftp site works through the command prompt i.e. c:>ftp localhost. running this command logs me in and I can enter my user name, then password and I am logged in. So this is working fine on the local machine
However from a remote computer I cannot connect to this ftp site at all. I have used command prompt, cuteFTP, Cyberduck, IE browser, chrome browser, etc but no luck. I have used different machines as well from different locations, but I just cannot connect to this ftp site on server 2016.
I have tried the following:
configured ftp firewall security to allow port 0-0, checked the windows firewall and inbound and outbound rules for ftp are active and allow traffic. I have restarted the Microsoft FTP service. I have shut down and restarted the whole server... I am now at my wits end. Does anyone know what I might be missing?
