I have a older HP Pavilion Elite, it is currently running Vista Home Premium, fully patched SP2 64 bit. I wanted to move to Windows 7 before it became obsolete. I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor a while ago and I am good to go. I purchased the Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade designed for Vista (the green box). As I was getting ready to do the upgrade, cleaning and backing up files etc., the boot up sequence started to loop so I went to Safe Mode and tried to do a restore, no restore points(hard to believe). The Upgrade will not work from Safe Mode along with just about everything else. The OS software it came with was preloaded so no disks. Is there an easy work around for the CRCDISK.SYS hang. I found the internet is full of very and various confusing/complicated methods. All I want to do is an upgrade not launch the shuttle.
