Windows XP 1 long beep, 2 Short beeps [display adaptor problem MDA/CGA], NOT A LAPTOP I CANNOT SEE THE SCREEN.

PC sitting for yrs, came across a needed program that only runs on XP, got the PC out and turned it on to test. I see Bars on the screen flickering, however I did see the desktop screen, shut it back of and reset a couple random plugs, then the next time I turned it on I couldn't see the desktop screen at all, just no signal and beeps, VGA cable btw. This is on a working monitor. When I turn it on it says no signal and the PC beeps 1 long 2 short. Cannot get to BIOS or anything, I NEED IT RUNNING URGENTLY WHAT DO I DO???
