Hi,
Since a few days, I got some packet loosing periodicaly on a 2016 Server (virtualized), the packet loose is only while it’s trying to access on Internet and this is so incredible, the description :
To avoid DNS aspect, I ping to the google DNS (8.8.8.8) is the test I do : it works periodically for a very few packets, then the ping fails, then he works again…. But most of time, the ping fails.
To check if it was a wire problem I tried to ping some LAN adresses : works at 100 percent anytime from the 2016 Server. Also tried a ping to the google DNS on another hosted Windows server 2012 (same physical machine and network than the 2016) : works at 100 percent also. So to my mind the 2016 Server is where the problem is and seems to be a software / system problem.
So I checked the IP adresses (all good : gateway, DNS and one default route) and parameters and what is very strange : if I change the IP adress (static) or I set an address obtained with DHCP : no packet loss to the 8.8.8.8 ! If I switch back to the static adress (set since the begining on this server) : the mistake is back. What I forgot to say : it’s the primary domain controller.
So I also tried to uninstall the NIC (checked uninstall drivers too) : same problem. I checked the drivers : up to date for the NIC.
What I think now it’s a service or a task, that start or check periodicaly something and make this problem, but which one ?
This problem is really incredible and after some days searching everywhere I dont’ have any other ideas.
All suggestions or ideas are very welcome.
Thanks.
Regards,
