Hello,
Last week we tried installing KB2919355 (Update 1) on our Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V cluster.
After installing the prerequisite updates KB2919442 on the second of April, and KB2939087 just before we wanted to install Update 1 itself. It just wont show up on any of our four cluster nodes.
To clarify this a bit. We install the updates with Microsoft Update, not through WSUS (don't have it in the network) and we don't use Cluster Aware Updating. We plan our maintenance, drain a cluster node and roll out the updates available, than we repeat.
We started out with a bunch of updates, update 1 was not showing yet. I though this was because we did not install KB2939087 yet, so we applied the updates and restarted our first cluster node, after the reboot update 1 was still missing, in fact, Microsoft Update shows no updates available.
So we started patching the other three cluster nodes one by one and all of them show the same behavior. We thought maybe we need to get all nodes on the same patch level before we could install update 1. but sadly no..
We have an almost identical Hyper-V test cluster running on the same hardware and software, the main difference is that its a two node cluster instead of four. A week before we wanted to roll out in production we tested the update 1 installation on that environment and all was good, we got the update through Microsoft Update and installed it successfully. So we used the exact same procedure on our production cluster.
This makes it weird, the only servers we cannot update are the cluster nodes of our production environment. This is a big problem that we need to solve. but as you may understand, we have a limited maintenance window so im looking for information.
What did we try:
We are trying to avoid installing the update manually with the MSU's provided. We are doing this because if the update doesn't show up in Microsoft Update, than it must have a reason, because this is our production cluster we wont take any chances. Besides, why can we install the update on our test cluster and not on our production cluster ? This is why we wont install by hand.
Some extra information about our environment.
Sidenote: Rollup 2 for System Center 2012 R2 has been made available through Microsoft Update on the day we planned our maintenance. We installed this rollup successfully on togheter with the prerequisite KB2939087 without issues.

What did we try:
- Reboots on all cluster nodes
- Windows Update Diagnostics diagcab has been run.
- All cluster nodes are on the exact same patch level.
- WindowsUpdate.log shows no (relevant) errors and no updates available.
- Tried looking for updates for the cluster with the Cluster Aware Updating console.
- Tried uninstalling KB2939087 and re-installing it.

Some extra information about our environment.
- 4 Hypervisors running Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter
- Managed with System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2012 R2 (rollup 2)
