Transfering programs from Vista Home Prem. to Vista Bus.

Q

Question

Let me ask this question: When upgrading from Home Prem. to the Business
edition there is no option to upgrade. With that said the only option is to
do a clean install. Now before/after doing the instal is possible to
save/transfer your programs, files... using the Easy Transfer Companion to
the new os? The main concern would be preserving the existing programs and
transferring them to newly installed os.

No, says here that the only computer MUST be XP and the new computer MUST be
Vista:

It might work though, but it isn't supported.

You can not tranfer programs files YES, programs NO.
You will have to reinstall the programs from disc, or download.

Easier and better to transfer your files by CD/DVD.

The general rule is that you can *not* transfer Windows programs (regardless
of what verions of Windows you are talking about) from one computer to
another. They have to be reinstalled from the original media.

I doubt that transferring would work. There may be other reasons, but
unless you re-install the programs how will the registry get updated
to recognize our transferred programs?
