Hi,
So I’ve been working on getting my Desktop Windows Vista running again seeing as though my Windows 10 laptop is extremely slow and basically unusable. Suprisingly this ancient desktop works flawlessly and everything loads right up. For the longest time, I could not get windows updater to work at all. After much troubleshooting, I finally fixed the updater by going into my registry. It successfully installed a number of updates (as quite some time as passed since the last time it worked). However, 3 “Important” updates failed to install, and every manual attempt at installing these individual files has also failed. Below are the three updates that fail to install, whether by the Windows Updater, or by manually downloading from the Microsoft website.
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 Update for Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008 x86 (KB956250)
Security Update for .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 on Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008 x86 (KB2518865)
Windows PowerShell 2.0 and WinRM 2.0 for Windows Vista (KB968930)
I understand this is an outdated operating system, however it works perfectly for my uses. I would really appreciate any help with this issue.
Thanks,
Tyler
