My copy of Microsoft Office Word Viewer is from 2004 and I wondered if an update was available. There does seem to be a new version available, but when I try to download it, I get a weird error, saying:

"Where do you want to install? It looks like you don’t have any applicable device(s) linked to your Microsoft account."

I am also told: "You own this app."

None of this makes any sense to me! How can I "own" something I haven't downloaded? And why does Microsoft want to know where I want to install it? What does that have to do with them? It's a free program. I will install it wherever I wish.

My copy of Win7 is fully registered, but surely that shouldn't make any difference? Shouldn't anyone be able to download Word Viewer, without having to log in to Microsoft? All very confusing.

Can anyone please give me a link to the download page? Thanks.
