Windows Cannot Find Error

[pixturesk@gmail.com]

Just recently in Win98SE, when I click on a PDF document, to be opened
with Foxit Reader, the document opens but i get a box with a red "X"
on the left side, saying that "Windows cannot find" whatever PDF file,
then to search for it etc. The file is there, Foxit opens it
correctly. How can I prevent this window from popping up every time?

I just went back to Adobe 5.1, works just as well if not better than
Foxit. I was using Adobe 6.0.6, the newest version that will run on
Win98SE, too bloaty, that why I went to Foxit. However, 5.1 runs very
quickly not too much bloat that I can see. I think that 5.1 is
probably the match for Win98SE. The question above is now irrelevant.

When I first read the message title, I was thinking:

"Windows Cannot Find Error...that's a good thing it can't find error!" But
seriously, I use Acrobat Reader 4.0 I like what oldversion.com says.
"Because Newer Is Not Always Better"!

I agree, "newer is not always better". I had Adobe 5 + 6 on my
computer. I just uninstalled 6 with all its updates, then just began
using 5 again, works so well. Especially with Win98SE,often the older
versions are better.

Which is why most of us use Win98.

In the old days, newer software meant improvements. These days, newer
means more bloat. slower operation, and spend money for more computer
hardware because more power is needed. Every version of windows newer
than Win98 is nothing more than more bloat, and Microsoft as well as
other software manufacturers are in cahoots with the computer sellers
so that every new release of a MS OS requires a new computer.

I'll stick with 98, and when I cant use it anymore, I'll toss the
computer and find a new hobby.
