Hello, at wit's end here. I have recently purchased and installed Earth Defense Force 5 via the application and vendor Steam. I was able to log 7 hours before being hit with "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\XINPUT9_1_0.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media."
I uninstalled and reinstalled EDF 5, I restarted my computer, I found this page: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\XINPUT1_3.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media.
which seemingly held the answer to my problem (deleting xinput9, restarting, deleting X3Daudio7, restarting, and then running dxwebsetup). Now, that user's problem was for Xinput1_3.dll. Mine is for Xinput9. Upon following their instructions, I had X3Daudio7 restored, but Xinput9 was not. So not only was xinput9 somehow corrupted, I now no longer have it and the DirectX installer doesn't include it. Please help.
