Demoting the last Windows 2003 DC

Hi everyone,

Here's our setup :

Domain functional level : Windows 2003
Forest functional level : Windows 2003

DC1 : Windows 2012 R2 (has all the FSMO roles)
DC2 : Windows 2012 R2
DC3 : Windows 2003

I intend to remove DC-3. Will that force a functional level upgrade automatically or can i schedule that later to move to Windows 2012 R2 functional level ?
