Hello. I'm having a problem with a persistent memory leak. I can get the memory to clear with a hard switch power off which suggests to me that the OS is saving the memory state to reload at boot after a clean software power down. After a hard power loss event (Cleared RAM.) my memory use is at about 15-20%. The used memory slowly creeps up to 90% + over a period of weeks and though it shows as used memory in task manager there isn't enough memory used by individual programs to total the 16GB I have in my rig. Were I to add up all of the memory allocations by the different programs I have open it would total 15-20% of my total installed RAM. I ran RAMMap and the excess memory usage shows as a "Mapped file." and I don't know what it is, what is causing it, or how to get it to stop.
I've performed virus, and malware scans with a trio of programs I trust (Norton, malwarebytes anti-malware, and combofix.) as well as spending several hours researching to see if someone has this issue as well to no avail.
Any suggestions welcomed. Thanks for your time.
