Strange Drive Partitions Are Not Allowing The Installation of Software
After much frustration, my tech illiterate friend came to me for assistance saying that she was unable to install any new software. I checked the drives in the manager and found nothing wrong, yet the problem still persisted. Having no other recourse, I viewed the drive through diskpart and came upon something I've never seen before. A strange subscript in the partitions that uses two different drive letters but then being marked officially as drive "C".
ex)
Volume 1 C OS NTFS Partition 222 GB Healthy Boot
C:\E Drive\
I have never come across a problem like this. As I want to help my friend, I have come here looking for help and some clarification. I need to know what happened so that I can prevent it from happening again and, if this comes up again, fix it myself. Thank you for your help!
