I really don't know where to start with this update process. This has been the the most frustrating experience to date, possibly more frustrating than I have ever experienced with Windows and that includes Windows 3.0 but I digress.
The last update I tried to gave this message:
Feature update to Windows 10, version 1903 - Error 0x80070002
I tried this update the following dates - this is pulled from the update logs:
Feature update to Windows 10, version 1903 (2)
Last failed install attempt on 18-Dec-19 - 0x80240034
Feature update to Windows 10, version 1903 (2)
Last failed install attempt on 02-Dec-19 - 0x80240034
Feature update to Windows 10, version 1903 (4)
Last failed install attempt on 02-Dec-19 - 0x80240034
Previous to this I tried to update to the then most recent available with these results:
Feature update to Windows 10, version 1809 x64 2019-05 (123)
Last failed install attempt on 22-Oct-19 - 0x80240034
And then there were a hold bunch of other further updates that failed:
2018-05 update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for X64 based Systems (KB4134661) (128)
Last failed install attempt on 18-Dec-19 - 0x80240034
Then there was this message back in August:
2019-08 update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for X64 based Systems (KB4023057)
Successfully installed on 30-Aug-19
So can any one explain and help me update Windows? I've tried using "Windows 10 Update Assistant" today ran it twice and both times a message popped up saying "something went wrong". This is incredibly frustrating as the failed attempts today have taken me about 6 hours for the update to download, then start installing only to fail again when it reaches around 87%.
I have approx 300GB free HDD space, I was running no other programs apart from Norton Security in the background.
Any help would be appreciated.
