Dear all,
We have recently upgraded all of our terminal servers to 2012 R2 Datacenter...
As a result users (Whom are connected via RDP) are complaining about the charms bar.. It is a nuisance and they wish to disable it...
I have read about 20 different articles all over the web and I have concluded the following:
1. We can use the taskbar properties to uncheck everything under "Corner Navigation"
2. We can create a new key called EdgeUI under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ImmersiveShell" and add the following Dwords with the value 1:
DisableTRCorner
DisableTLCorner
DisableCharmsHint
3. We can use a 3rd party application called "Classic Shell"
Options 1 and 2 were semi helpful since they did disable the TOP right charm... However it is STILL ACCESSIBLE via the top BOTTOM right.... (Even after a reboot to the server)
We work in a production company and therefore we will not use a 3rd party application for over 50 terminals to disable a Microsoft feature (That's just plain absurd if you ask me...)
So.. we are in 2020...
Is there a way (GPO or otherwise) to disable this damn charm??? Or "hide" it so that users wont be able to see it when they reach the bottom right of the screen?
Thanks in advanced!
