I forgot my hotmail password can't log into Windows 8

I forgot my hotmail password that logs me into windows 8. I tried to use the hotmail recovwry form but that didnt work. If there was some way for me to use a different phone for that account i would be able to change it. They want me to use an old phone number to receive the code, but that phone number no longer exists. I want to change the phone number so i can receive the code to change my passwor the form also says i have to wait 24 hours. How can i change the phone number to receive the code i forgot the password to hotmail.
