Hi,
We have Windows 2016 server standard edition installed with Exchange 2016 and EMC networker backup client.
The backup failed and in the Windows 2016 server, the following was found from the event log:
Log Name: System
Source: Service Control Manager
Date: 23/1/2020 9:08:21 AM
Event ID: 7000
Task Category: None
Level: Error
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer: <computer name>
Description:
The BBB Write Interceptor Driver service failed to start due to the following error:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source
When we run "net start nsrbbb" command, it returns the same error msg in Windows event viwer:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source.
From EMC KB, it says that the cause of this kind of issue is that the a Windows Update for SHA-2 Signing and Functionality needs to be installed in the OS.
Anyone has encountered similar issue of the above before? If the solution is require an SHA-2 update, where can I download the update?
